Prairie Moon Waldorf School can support and prepare you to welcome young children with reverence and dignity. We offer an education for a whole-hearted approach to the development of the young child.
Our work is informed by Waldorf Education and Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy to build an awareness and passion for a world where childhood is joyful and honored.
Parent Association Speaker - Karl Johnson
Karl David Johnson, M.A., has been an educator for over 45 years and has taught in the Waldorf movement since 1986. He is currently serving the Mountain Song Community School as Pedagogical Director.

Winter Light Faire 2025
Join us for our annual festival, Winter Light Faire! A magical evening for parents and children alike, we will have food, vendors and shopping, activities, and of course - lights! More information will be posted as vendors are added and activities are finalized. Keep your eye out - we can’t wait!
Mayfest
Our celebration of Mayfest this year is fast approaching. By celebrating the passage of the seasons through art, music and story, we strengthen our connection to the rhythms of nature. At Prairie Moon Waldorf School we do not take the change of seasons for granted as our school community gathers to celebrate the splendid glories of nature. We can’t wait to welcome long-awaited Spring and we say goodbye to Winter! Please come and join us with your friends and families to celebrate this yearly event with dance, music, crafts and games.

WORKSHOP 2: October 25th - Early Childhood - Corresponds with Parent Association Event on October 9th with Katie Moran
Parent Association Speaker - Katie Moran
A movement and dance teacher for over 25 years, Katie is a stellar athlete, and has played a key role in Spacial Dynamics international peace festivals, “Hands in Peace.” She is a senior instructor of the Spacial Dynamics Institute, a Movement Educator at the Austin Waldorf School, and mentors nationally and internationally.
Parent Association Speaker - Shahida Spann-Ryan
Shahida (Shannon) Spann-Ryan holds a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University. She is a licensed acupuncturist in Kansas (LAc) and is Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Art in the Park
Join Prairie Moon Waldorf School’s Outreach Committee as we host a table at this fun annual event. We will be on the North Side of South Park in beautiful downtown Lawrence, KS, providing a sweet, shady spot for families to come rest, learn about Waldorf, and complete a simple craft.
