Annual Giving Campaign Q & A

WHAT IS THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN?

The Annual Giving Campaign is a direct appeal to board members, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, faculty, staff and friends for financial contributions in support of the school’s operating budget.

The major components of the operating budget are programs, facilities, equipment, salaries and benefits, new classroom renovation, playground improvements and tuition assistance.

WHY IS THE ANNUAL CAMPAIGN NECESSARY?

Why hold an annual campaign?
Tuition and fees cover about 85% of the projected operating expenses of the school for 2007-2008, and the purpose of the Annual Campaign is to help bridge this gap. No private, independent school could charge the full cost of educating students without pricing itself out of the market. That is why nearly every independent, non-profit school has an Annual Campaign. Additionally, tuition is a non-tax-deductible contracted contribution to the school, while gifts to the Annual Campaign are fully tax-deductible.
