Music Teacher for 1st/2nd Grade and 3rd/4th Grade
This part-time position will be filled by a music educator with knowledge of children’s songs and games, experience developing and using lesson plans, classroom management skills, knowledge of music theory and notation, and an ability with many musical instruments (including recorder), As the children learn through modeling, the applicant must have a voice, ear and heart for music. The ideal candidate for music teacher will have experience with Waldorf philosophy and practice, and a desire to join the Association of North American Waldorf Music Educators. http://waldorfmusic.org/
Hours: 4 class periods per week
Pay: $20/class period
Primary Duties:
• Plan for and teach twice-weekly music lessons in each elementary class.
• Using the Waldorf Curriculum for music, develop and document curriculum and lesson plans.
• Collaborate with class teachers to develop curriculum specific to grade and class.
