Handwork Teacher for 1st/2nd Grade and 3rd/4th Grade
This part-time position will be filled by an experienced handwork practitioner with knowledge of children’s songs and games, experience developing and using lesson plans, classroom management skills, knowledge of natural handwork materials and techniques (crochet, knitting, hand sewing and weaving). The ideal candidate for handwork teacher will have experience with Waldorf philosophy and practice, and a desire to pursue professional development courses in Waldorf education.
Hours: 4 class periods per week
Pay: $20/class period
Primary Duties:
• Plan for and teach twice-weekly handwork lessons in each elementary class.
• Using the Waldorf curriculum for handwork, develop and document curriculum and lesson plans.
• Collaborate with class teachers to develop curriculum specific to grade and class.
