Early Childhood Admissions

Early childhood is a period of magical discovery—learning movement, play, friendship, and love. The child begins to flourish independently, developing rhythms and discovering the beauty of language.

Acceptance into Prairie Moon Waldorf School is based on availability and the school's ability to meet each child's needs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year as long as there is space. Learn more about how Waldorf Education can benefit your child by attending an Open House or arranging for a private tour with the Enrollment Coordinator.

Classes meet Monday through Friday. The half day program begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 1.00 p.m. The full day program begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. Robin's Nest provides care at the end of the day, after 3:15, for those children who need it. There are limited number of spaces for those seeking three-day and four-day options. For more detailed information on fees and schedules please see the Tuition and Fee Schedule.

A detailed Application for Admissions Form should be submitted to the school along with the non-refundable $50 application fee. If there are currently no openings in the class, the child's name will be placed on the waiting list (see below) after having been met and observed by the class teacher and after having paid the 10% tuition deposit. Please speak with the Enrollment Coordinator to discuss the age cut-off for first grade and how that may impact your child.

Early Childhood Application

All fees and tuition are listed in the Tuition and Fee Schedule which is updated in the spring of each year. Tuition assistance is available for qualified families. Contact the office to discuss steps in applying for tuition assistance. Note that tuition assistance is not provided to the school by any third party organizations. All reductions in tuition given to qualifying families must be made up by the school community in the form of fundraising.

Any child whose application is received after the class has reached maximum enrollment will be placed on a waiting list after having been met by the class teacher. Should an opening arise, the parents and prospective student will be contacted. Special consideration is given to PMWS siblings and Waldorf transfer students. If the parents cannot be reached, the next name on the list will be called. The child's name will remain on the waiting list until he or she is enrolled, or the child's removal from the list or refusal of an opening offered. Please contact us periodically for the wait list status. No child will be added to a waiting list without first submitting an application along with the non-refundable application fee payment and completion of all other steps in enrollment, including the remittance of the 10% tuition deposit.
